Abstract: underwater photographic records and sampling were carried out in steamer bay, strait of magellan, chile, to study the spatial distribution patterns of juvenile king crabs lithodes santolla during late winter and early spring in 2006. observations were made on the relationship between these crabs and the holdfasts and stipes of the large kelp macrocystis pyrifera. dense aggregations, known as ?pods?, of juvenile king crab (34-75 mm cl) were observed and photographed for the first time in specific areas of the embayment in relation to macrocystis; pod abundance varied between 2 and 70 ind·m-2. maximum abundance was detected on plants having holdfasts > 15 cm in diameter and abundant stipes and sporophylls. the ratio between male and female abundance was nearly 1:1. this study attempts to bring attention to previously unknown ecological roles of the kelp m. pyrifera in relation to its associated benthic fauna in habitats near the southern tip of south america as background information on the ecological functions of this species prior to allowing its industrial-scale exploitation

Variation of Total Ozone during 24 August 2005 Magnetic Storm: A Case Study  [PDF]
Gustavo A. Mansilla
Atmospheric and Climate Sciences (ACS) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/acs.2013.34049
Abstract:

This paper presents the longitudinal distribution of total ozone along several latitudinal circles from both hemispheres during a strong geomagnetic storm that occurred on 24 August 2005 after a solar proton event (the maximum flux of protons with energy > 10 MeV was 1.70 × 107 protons cm-2.day-1.sr-1 on 23 August). For that, we use average daily values of total ozone observations (=column ozone amount) in Dobson units for the period 18-25 August 2005 (obtained from the Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer, TOMS). The considered storm occurred after a relatively quiet geomagnetic period and it is not superposed by another perturbation, which permit us to identify clearly the effects of the geomagnetic storm on total ozone. The results show statistically significant decreases in ozone along the latitudinal circles 70°N and 70°S (summer and winter), no statistically significant effects at middle latitudes (40°S) and sparse statistically significant increases at low latitudes (20°S). The role of some mechanisms to explain the features observed is considered.

The Role of Interactive Visual Art Learning in Development of Young Children’s Creativity  [PDF]
Sylvia Stavridi
Creative Education (CE) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ce.2015.621235
Abstract: Learning by interactive arts methods is a non-traditional approach to new creative teaching methods, in which young children are simultaneously engaged to feel and understand the original concept of core content areas in education, such as science, technology and math from a broad perspective. This article is an attempt to investigate the question of “how to keep young children’s creativity alive”. It focuses on the visual art and its interrelation between interactivity and creativity, and how the exploration of arts shapes new ways for our children to improve their practice and interaction in an increasingly intelligent setting. The article explores different digital platforms, tools, art-tech/software, and web-based applications that support the benefits of innovative active learning, and which differentiate teaching methods in traditional classes. The author confers that recently, integrated digital aesthetic learning has shifted the focus from not only fulfilling the existing education system, but also developing new interactive environmentally-friendly education, where educators are encouraged to design and build a creative digital curriculum to engage their students in a constructive way, both formally and informally. Furthermore, it discusses how arts and humanities-based initiatives are taking a prominent place in our integrated learning systems in private elementary schools in Alexandria. The paper then concludes with an emphasis on the crucial and efficient use of digital technologies through primary education as a tool to create and conduct art activities in order to help improve children learning in a creative process.

Abstract: The purpose of this research was to determine the impact of advancement of technology, competitive pressure, and user expectation on continues digital disruption using perceive ease of use role as a mediator. This study proposed a conceptual framework to investigating the significant factors of the various variables through critical evaluation of associated theoretical models, literature studies, and empirical tests. The proposed conceptual framework examined 292 final samples from targeted populations aged 18 years or older, working with digital technologies in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, using a positivism research philosophy and explanatory research design. The Survey questionnaires collected were extensively tested for reliability and validity. Empirical data were analyzed using “Exploratory Factor Analysis” (EFA), “Confirmatory Factor Analysis” (CFA), and “Structural Equation Modeling” (SEM) via AMOS 22 software. Research findings indicate that advancement of technology has an insignificant negative impact on continuous digital disruption. User expectation has a positive, negligible effect on digital disruption. However, competitive pressure showed a negative impact on continuous digital disruption. The role of perceived ease of use as a mediator on continuous digital disruption indicated a positively negligible impact. Perceived ease of use role as a mediator on competitive pressure and user expectations showed a positive marginal effect. Lastly, perceived ease of use as a mediator for advancement of technology was negatively insignificant. In conclusion, all the hypotheses proposed were rejected based on these findings, except for hypothesis (H2). The main contribution of this paper was to determine the actual factors contributing to the unceasing digital disruption in organizations and institutions and also identify the correlation between advancement of technology, user expectations, and competitive pressure on continuous digital disruption, using perceive ease of use role as a mediator.
“ PALABRAS QUE VAN A DAR AL RíO DE UNA POESíA INúTIL”: UNA APROXIMACIóN A LA POéTICA DE JAIME HUENúN A PARTIR DE PUERTO TRAKL
Mansilla,Sergio;
Alpha (Osorno) , 2011, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-22012011000100002
Abstract: beginning with a reading of the collection puerto trakl, we discuss some key aspects of jaime huenún’s poetics, related to the cultural translations of his mestizo writing. huenún’s literary proposal advances in the direction of constructing a modern mapuche-huilliche poetics, which makes modes of textualization that originate from indigenous and non-indigenous discursivities merge, descentralizing them in the process. in puerto trakl, what descenters are precisely the discursivities of the most canonic of modern international poetry.

Abstract: in this work, we consider a hamiltonian system with three degrees of freedom, whose linear part has all its roots pure imaginary and its three frequencies equal. we determine the kernel of the lie operator and the normal form, according to meyer, of hamiltonian in the diagonalizable case and in one of the nondiagonalizable cases, obtaining a normal form of the type obtained by sokol?s kii and mansilla in previous works
El Síndrome de Fatiga Crónica: del modelo de susceptibilidad a la hipótesis de la cadena de estrés en el área laboral
Mansilla,Fernando;
Revista de la Asociación Espa?ola de Neuropsiquiatría , 2003, DOI: 10.4321/S0211-57352003000200003
Abstract: the susceptibility model has to be with the mixture of different elements: the biological susceptibility, the susceptibility to mobbing, the susceptibility to burn-out, the susceptibility to job stress and the protection factors such as: the social support, the positive self-concept, the internal locus of control, the high level of self-esteem and the self-efficacy feeling. the hypothesis of stress chain in the job area afirms that the persistance of job stress is acumulative. the mobbing, the burn-out syndrome, the job stress provoke different kinds of fatigue. if the stress factors, which lead to these problems, waist too much time, the fatigue may come to be what is called chronic fatigue syndrome.

Sergio Mansilla
Alpha (Osorno) , 2011,
Beginning with a reading of the collection Puerto Trakl, we discuss some key aspects of Jaime Huenún’s poetics, related to the cultural translations of his mestizo writing.
